The changes in the nature of television broadcasting brought about by the digital revolution has made it increasingly difficult to figure out categorical parameters. The ‘TV Movie’ category had been a barren wasteland for the past few years but there’s several strong candidates this year. The catch is that the favorite is a movie ‘spinoff’ of a highly respected series that is no longer on the air. ‘Limited Series’ are still very much a part of the post digital revolution broadcast industry but there’s one problem–there has been considerable difficulty trying to figure out where a ‘limited series’ ends a full on drama or comedy series begins.
