- The New York Jets have announced a multi-year partnership naming WynnBET as an ‘Official Sports Betting Operator’ of the NFL team.
- The announcement comes just a few days after the Jets announced a similar partnership with Fubo Sportsbook.
- WynnBET’s mobile sportsbook app is currently live in Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Arizona, Tennessee and Virginia.
Things might finally be looking up for the New York Jets. They haven’t had much go their way in recent years. The Jets have had only one winning season in the past decade–their inexplicable 10-6 record in 2015 which didn’t even get them into the playoffs. They’ve also had trouble finding a franchise quarterback. Since 2011, the team has started 12 different quarterbacks. At one point, they were desperate enough to bring in past his prime and character challenge Michael Vick. To no surprise, Vick was a washout but its not like anyone else set the bar particularly high. In addition to Vick, the Jets went through Mark Sanchez, Greg McElroy, Geno Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bryce Petty, Josh McCown, Sam Darnold, Luke Falk, Trevor Siemian and Joe Flaco.
The Jets probably won’t finish with a winning record this season though they should improve upon last year’s miserable 2-14 mark. There is light at the end of the tunnel–they’ve now got a quarterback with serious potential in former BYU standout Zach Wilson (starting quarterback #12 since 2011). Wilson has drawn comparisons to Aaron Rodgers and assuming he doesn’t get killed playing behind a porous Jets’ offensive line has all the tools to be a top quarterback in the league. BTW, Wilson is a nice value to win offensive rookie of the year–he’s priced at +800 at BetOnline.ag behind Mac Jones, Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields.
There’s been additional good news for the Jets that won’t show up in the box score. They’ve signed on two ‘Official Sports Betting Partners’ in less than a week. Last week, they announced a partnership with Fubo Sportsbook–the forthcoming sports betting endeavor from streaming network fuboTV. Today, they’ve announced that they’re teaming up with WynnBET for a new sports betting partnership. The multi-year deal gets WynnBET the designation of ‘Official Sports Betting Partner’.
Much of the Jets/WynnBET partnership sounds like ‘deja vu all over again’. A few days ago, we discussed their partnership with Fubo Sportsbook which includes the ‘Fubo Sportsbook Lounge’ at MetLife Stadium:
Here’s what WynnBET announced earlier today:
The centerpiece of the relationship is the WynnBET Green Room, a ticketed, 21 years-old and over all-inclusive food and beverage hospitality space at Jets home games. The luxury club space, approximately 4,800 square feet, will provide an immersive sportsbook experience, allowing ticketed Jets fans access to live WynnBET betting content such as point spreads, game totals, in-play wagering and more.
They even had the decency to include an artists’ rendering of the WynnBET Lounge…err…WynnBET Green Room:
I like the spare, utilitarian design of the Fubo Sportsbook Lounge better but if the ‘artist’s rendering’ of what sure looks like a buffet spread is accurate the WynnBET Green Room wins in a landslide.
WynnBET gets some additional branding opportunities as outlined in the press release:
WynnBET also becomes the presenting partner of the team’s flagship podcast network, including “The Official Jets Podcast” and “Jets Game Preview” pods. “The Official Jets Podcast”, hosted by team reporter Eric Allen and Jets legend, Leger Douzable will discuss all the news and notes around the team. In the new series “Jets Game Preview”, team reporter Ethan Greenberg and NFL insider Cynthia Frelund will go deep into analyzing the upcoming Jets game.
The Jets podcast network is distributed across NYJets.com, the Official Jets App, YouTube, iHeartMedia, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, and Sound Cloud.
Additionally, the Jets Pre and Post Game Live TV shows on SNY, featuring NFL insiders and Jets Legends, will be presented by WynnBET and air immediately before and after each Jets game.
In a shocking development, there wasn’t a quote from a WynnBET or Wynn Resorts executive in the press release. The Jets did make someone available–Jeff Fernandez, Jets VP of Business Development and Ventures–gave some love to WynnBET:
“WynnBET is one of the most innovative and forward-thinking operators in the LSB marketplace. The Wynn name represents a premium brand and overall high touch experience that fits perfectly into the aura of the Green Room. We also expect Jets fans to enjoy the compelling new content on the Jets Podcast Network and benefit from the WynnBET relationship on gameday and throughout the entire football season”.
Fernandez also gave the Jets’ quote for the Fubo Sportsbook partnership press release. Props to him for making the two quotes discernibly different. That’s not easy to do.
Wynn Interactive is the parent company of WynnBET and their sportsbook app is live in Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Arizona, Tennessee and Virginia. The WynnBET app is done in partnership with European sportsbook provider BetBull. There’s also a ‘Wynn Mobile Sports App’ in Nevada which serves up the same lines you’ll find at the Wynn retail sportsbook.
