- Chicago based online gaming platform provider Rush Street Interactive has announced a partnership with Spain’s LaLiga soccer circuit.
- The company’s RushBet brand will be LaLiga’s exclusive wagering partner in Colombia.
- Rush Street is better known in the US for their BetRivers and PlaySugarhouse iGaming and sports betting brands.
There’s been so much happening in the North American sports betting industry over the past couple of years that it’s easy to get ‘tunnel vision’ and forget that it’s a big world out there. This is especially true as it relates to soccer betting which is by far the most popular wagering sport in the planet. Most of what we’ve reported about Chicago based Rush Street Interactive (RSI) of late has been focused on their US sports betting and iGaming brands–PlaySugarhouse and BetRivers. The company now has retail and/or online market access in twelve US states: Pennsylvania, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Michigan, Indiana, Virginia, Colorado, Iowa, West Virginia and Arizona.
Many US bettors aren’t aware that RSI is also a major player in the Latin American market. Columbia, in particular, is a very strong market for RSI under their RushBet brand. They’ve recently announced a huge partnership focused on that market–the RushStreet brand is now the exclusive Columbian wagering partner of Spain’s LaLiga soccer league. In addition to the LaLiga ‘seal of approval’, RSI gets branding rights for official league logos and trademarks. They will also be creating content specifically for the Columbian market.
Here’s some more on the specifics from the press release announcing the deal:
The deal enables RushBet to co-brand with the two top divisions of LaLiga — LaLiga Santander and LaLiga Smartbank. RushBet may use all LaLiga IP, including team logos and jerseys, as well as have certain LaLiga players such as Colombia natives Radamel Falcao, Jeison Murillo and Carlos Bacca, participate in RushBet promotions and advertisements. Additionally, Rushbet will have access to exclusive “money can’t buy” hospitality packages for its bettors—VIP experiences such as attending top rivalry games, including Real Madrid vs. Barcelona and Atletico Bilbao vs. Real Sociedad.
Additionally, RushBet will also be launching new content productions for both TV and Digital as part of the partnership. LaLiga is one of the globe’s most renowned sports leagues with notable clubs that include Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Omar Calvo, General Manager of RSI Colombia, understands the significance of LaLiga soccer to the South American market:
“We are committed to providing our players with the best content and high-quality entertainment, and this partnership is aligned with those objectives. LaLiga is one of the most viewed leagues in Colombia and across the globe, and we want to bring Colombians even closer to this important league.”
“Integrating LaLiga media properties with Rushbet marks an exciting time for our company here in Latin America.”
Julián Gómez, LaLiga Delegate in Colombia, thinks that this move will help his organization strengthen ties with fans in the country:
“This agreement will allow LaLiga to be even closer to our fans in Colombia, sharing all the passion and adrenaline that LaLiga has to offer. For many years we have played with passion, and we have shared it with our fans in Colombia, now, we are also really excited to also share all the emotion of LaLiga with RushBet’s consumers in Colombia.”
RushBet was recognized as the “Sportsbook of the Year” for Latin America at the SBC Awards Latinoamérica 2021 ceremony in Miami, in October. RSI was recognized for the successful performance of its online sportsbook in Colombia over the past year and for the strong user experience and originality of the RushBet platform. The deal with LaLiga should help the company expose their product to an even broader audience.
