Commanders Take on Eagles on TNF: Odds, Prediction, Player Props

It is a showdown for top spot in the NFC East as the Eagles host the Commanders in a game that could determine the division winner at the end of the season. They’ll meet again in Week 16 but if last year was any indication, we could be in for another high scoring affair, just like in both games in 2023.

Washington Commanders

Washington should have won at home against the Steelers last week but made too many errors that led to the first loss at home. Jayden Daniels wasn’t as productive against Pittsburgh’s No. 8 defense. The Commanders were without their top back, Brian Robinson, who missed his second straight week, so Austin Ekeler filled in admirably, scoring two touchdowns. Washington was held to just 60 rushing yards on the day. Washington could have Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore ready this week after being acquired in a trade. The biggest challenge may be stopping the run as the Commanders have the fifth worst run defense while the Eagles are No. 2 in the NFL averaging 176 YPG.

Philadelphia Eagles

Since their bye in Week 5, the Eagles are 5-0 and vying for not only the division, but the first seed in the NFC. Philly was dominant against the Cowboys beating them soundly, 34-6. Jalen Hurts is playing elite football throwing for 8 touchdowns, just one interception, and running for 8 scores during this win streak. After three weeks of rushing for 100-yards or more, Saquon Barkley was held to 66 yards but only had 14 touches as the game was well under control. Expect him to play a prominent role Thursday Night. After a poor turnover ratio, the defense played well of late including forcing five turnovers against Dallas.

Player Prop Best Bets

Jalen Hurts: Anytime TD (+100)

Jalen Hurts has 10 touchdowns this season including 8 in the last 4 games. He’s reached paydirt in four straight and against one of the worst run defenses, Hurts should find space to score in his fifth straight game.

Terry McLaurin: OVER 62.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Scary Terry is No. 3 in the league with 711 yards and had 113 yards vs the Steelers last week. He’s a deep ball target who has for receptions this season of 54 yards or more. And last season, he topped this total in both games (63 and 86 yards) against the Eagles.
