Buccaneers-Cowboys Tangle on SNF: Odds, Prediction, Injuries, & Trends

Sunday Night Football features the Buccaneers taking on the Cowboys. Tampa Bay controls its own destiny, win the final three games and capture the NFC South for the fourth straight season. Meanwhile, Dallas is technically still alive in the playoff race but needs a lot of help to get in.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs have been rolling winning four straight including a big road win last week at the Chargers. They were without injured All-Pro safety Antoine Winfield Jr. and he’s likely to miss Sunday night’s game. Baker Mayfield continues to play incredible football throwing for 288 yards passing and four touchdowns against LA. It was his third game this season with at least 275 passing yards and four scores, second-most, behind Lamar Jackson this season. During this winning streak, the defense has allowed an average of 15 PPG. The one glaring issue for Tampa has been turnovers, seven in the past three games. The Bucs are 5-1 ATS in their past six.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys looked impressive last week, but then again, they beat the Panthers 30-14. Cooper Rush had a career-high three TD passes and RB Rico Dowdle ran for a career high 149 yards on 25 carries. CeeDee Lamb had nine catches for 116 yards and a TD to reach 1,000 yards receiving a fourth straight year. It seems like the Cowboys are playing better without the pressure considering they will likely miss the playoffs. Still, the small glimmer of hope has invigorated this side as the defense forced four turnovers last week and recorded six sacks. Dallas is 4-9 ATS in its past 13 games.

Prediction: Tampa Bay -4

The Bucs have become the dark horse in the NFC. The offense is in the top-5 averaging 28.8 PPG and sixth in yards per play (6.1). They are one of the hottest teams and Bucky Irving and Rachaad White will have a field day against one of the worst run defenses in the league.
