The second episode of The Masked Singer Season 2 is in the books and we’ve got another celebrity revealed and eliminated. On Episode 2, the Panda was eliminated and revealed to be none other than the fruit of the loins of ‘The Greatest’ aka boxer Laila Ali. That leaves the field with 13 contestants and we’ve got the revised odds to win below. Since I had the Panda/Laila Ali priced at +5000 there’s only been minor revisions to the prices.
The ‘head to head’ matchups for Episode 2 also went well. I had the Leopard and Panda as the underdog in each matchup and they ended up being the ones ‘at risk’ and eliminated which at least validates that I had the right side favored. At the time of this writing, the contestants for Episode 3 are known but the specific matchups haven’t been announced. As a result, there’s no head to head matchups as of yet but I have done some ‘To Be Eliminated’ odds among the four contestants scheduled to appear. If I can get the matchup pairings prior to the show I’ll try to add in some odds. Otherwise, I’ll hopefully be able to get advanced matchups for next week.
The ratings for Episode 2 were down from the debut though it’s not really possible to make an ‘apples to apples’ comparison. Episode 1 was a two hour premier that had been heavily promoted on Sunday’s NFL prime time game. Episode 2 is likely a more accurate reflection of what the ratings will look like this season. The season premiere was the highest rated non-sports broadcast of the week by a wide margin. It’s very likely that Episode 2 will also be the top rated non sports show of the week on network television. The prime time key demo numbers are even more impressive and the first episode of The Masked Singer doubled the second highest rated program in adults 18-49.
