Another episode of Survivor: Island of Idols is in the books. Vince Moua was the unfortunate contestant eliminated from the competition. Karishma was also at risk for elimination and for some reason she has become a serious pariah among the rest of the castaways. It looks as if the antipathy is mutual–Karishma cut her hand trying to open a coconut and the rest of the tribe didn’t exactly rush to her aid. She then cuts a promo with this great line:
“If I would have chopped my head off, they wouldn’t have flinched,” said Karishma. Each and every person on this tribe is dead to me.
Reality TV 101 suggests that even if this is the case she’ll be around for awhile since it makes for good television.
The ratings for Episode 3 of Survivor: Island of the Idols were essentially unchanged from the week before. Both episode 2 and 3 pulled a 1.2 rating with a 6 share. Episode 2 attracted 6.57 million viewers while Episode 3 brought in 6.51 viewers. Here’s something I didn’t know–Survivor is still a huge ratings draw in Canada. In the Numeris TV ratings for September 23, 2019 to September 29, 2019 Survivor was the #3 ranked English Language show on Canadian Television. That week Survivor brought in 2.181 million viewers. Also worth noting that it has a significantly larger audience than The Masked Singer which had 1.78 million viewers that week. That same week in the US The Masked Singer finished as the #6 highest rated show with Survivor tied for 15th.
