- BetMGM has launched mobile sports betting in Kansas
- BetMGM is an ‘official sports betting partner’ of the NFL Kansas City Chiefs
- Kansas sports betting launched on September 1.
BetMGM has announced that they’ve gone live with mobile betting in Kansas. It was a foregone conclusion after the company announced a promotional partnership with the NFL Kansas City Chiefs. They’ve made it official and now anyone in the state of Kansas can access the MGM platform via their iOS and Android apps or online at www.betmgm.com. It is the 24th market for retail and/or mobile sports betting for BetMGM.
They’ll definitely be looking to leverage their relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs to promote their new presence. It is certainly the most sought after promotional partner in the state with the possible exception of the University of Kansas basketball team. The sports betting/iGaming division of BetMGM operated in partnership with Entain PLC is now an official sports betting partner of the NFL Kansas City Chiefs. The multiyear deal is effective immediately, and it’s obvious the Chiefs aren’t even considering an exclusive deal–the press release indicated that BetMGM is ‘one of the team’s first sports betting partners.’
The terms of the deal are pretty straightforward:
Under the agreement, BetMGM signage will be present inside GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. BetMGM content also will be featured across the Chiefs’ digital channels with special offers, game day experiences and prizes available to fans and season ticket members.
Here’s what BetMGM had to say about the launch of their sports betting platform in Kansas:
BetMGM, a leading sports betting and iGaming operator, today launched its mobile app in Kansas. Customers now can fully access BetMGM’s state-of-the-art online sports wagering platform, providing a wide variety of betting options as well as the opportunity to earn experiences at MGM Resorts’ premier destinations across the country.
The BetMGM app features a user-friendly sports betting platform, making it easy to customize pre-game, live in-play, futures and parlay wagers. Customers can engage in BetMGM’s exclusive free-to-play contests surrounding marquee sporting events as well as the One Game Parlay product where players can combine their wagers on a single game to earn even larger payouts.
BetMGM also emphasized that they’re now live in 24 markets across North America and plugged the tie in with the BetMGM Rewards program:
Now available in 24 markets across North America, BetMGM offers a world-class loyalty program providing customers the opportunity to earn points with every wager placed. BetMGM Rewards points can be redeemed for accommodations at MGM Resorts properties nationwide including Bellagio, ARIA and MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Borgata in Atlantic City, MGM Grand Detroit, MGM Northfield Park in Ohio, MGM National Harbor in Maryland and Beau Rivage in Mississippi.
BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt had this to say about the launch:
“We’re confident sports fans across the Sunflower State will enjoy the excitement of wagering with BetMGM. We would like to thank the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission, Kansas Lottery and Kansas Crossing Casino for being great partners and supporting our efforts.”
The Kansas sports betting ecosystem doesn’t look too bad–a miracle given that the lottery has oversight of the entire gambling industry in the state. The mobile component should do fine, but the big question will be the performance of the retail sports betting in Kansas. They don’t have enough casinos to satisfy market demand and will be in bad shape once Missouri launches sports betting.
