- Malta based iGaming company the Carousel Group has received final authorization to launch in Colorado.
- Colorado will be the first US market for their mobile gaming product.
- They were added to the list of Colorado licensed sportsbook operators early Monday.
Another new name was added to the list of licensed sportsbooks on the Colorado Division of Gaming website earlier today. The Carousel Group, a Malta based iGaming company, is preparing to launch their mobile app in the market imminently. Colorado will be the company’s first entry in the US market and they’ll be launching their ‘marquee brand’ SportsBetting.com with plans to enter additional US states. The inclusion on this list is significant since companies get added to the roster at the time of their mobile launch or occasionally shortly before or after. The Carousel/Sportsbetting dot com entry is in partnership with Cripple Creek based Johnny Nolon’s Casino–a partnership that was announced back in May of this year.
Johnny Nolon’s Casino also has a self branded retail sportsbook powered by Las Vegas based sports betting technology company ISI Race & Sports. Johnny Nolon’s is a fairly small, independently owned property that has operated in Cripple Creek since 1991 and they opened their retail sportsbook on August 1, 2020. Here’s some background from their website:

The sports betting industry in Colorado shows no signs of slowing down. With SportsBetting.com set to launch and the the recent additions of mobile platforms from William Hill and another UK based betting company, Betfred Sports, that’s a total of 14 betting apps regulated by the state’s Division of Gaming. The tribal run Sky Ute Casino also offers a sports betting app in the state for a total of 15 different mobile sportsbook options in Colorado. Several more including Wynn Sports, PointsBet and Superbook are expected to launch before the end of September. There are also eight retail sportsbooks in operation at Colorado casinos though that component of the industry got off to a slow start due to the pandemic and related closures. There are many more companies already licensed and on their way both at the retail and mobile level.
