They are two of the league’s marquee franchises and renew their bitter rivalry Sunday night as the Cowboys travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. Both teams come off losses and are desperate to get back in the win column.
Dallas Cowboys
Ironically, the Cowboys have only managed to score 49 points in the last three games and come off their bye week. Dallas was embarrassed at home two weeks ago 47-9 by the Lions and now sit 3-3, third in the NFC East. The defense has been ravaged by injuries as Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence remain out. And as mentioned, the offense has struggled, particularly Dak Prescott, as he’s tied for the most red-zone interceptions with two, and has only completed nine of 23 passes inside the opponents’ 20.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers haven’t won back-to-back games this season and now sit at 3-4 in the NFC West. Brandon Aiyuk is done for the season, Deebo Samuel dealing with pneumonia, Jauan Jennings has a hip injury and George Kittle missed practice. Still, the Niners have the talent to get back on the winning track. For the Cowboys the biggest focus will be stopping the run. While the 49ers are missing All-Pro running back Christain McCaffery, Jordan Mason is second in the NFL with 667 yards. Dallas has struggled against the run allowing an average of 143 yards per game and has surrendered 180 yards or more in three different games.
Player Prop Best Bets
Jordan Mason: OVER 79.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
Jordan Mason has rushed for 73 or more yards in 6 of 7 games and has gone over this total 4 times. Dallas has the 6th worst run defense and Mason will look to expose that.
Brock Purdy: UNDER 31.5 Passing Attempts (-115)
All of Brock Purdy’s weapons have had health issues this week and the fact he’s coming off a 3-interception game, the game plan will center around the run game. The Niners are 0-5 when Purdy throws multiple picks, so controlling the game on the ground makes sense.
CeeDee Lamb: Anytime Touchdown (+120)
It’s not often to get CeeDee Lamb at this price and the Cowboys main target is due. He has just 2 TDs this season but is targeted about 9 times a game.
