It’s an NFC East rivalry on Thursday Night Football as the Cowboys head to MetLife Stadium to take on the Giants. A short week for both sides as Dallas comes in off a loss to the Ravens while New York upset the Browns in Cleveland.
DALLAS COWBOYS
While they almost pulled off a miraculous comeback against Baltimore the Cowboys are reeling defensively, allowing the third most points, almost 30 a game, while giving up 372 yards of offense on average. On the flip side, the offense has been putting up 26 points a game, sixth most in the league but they’ve been playing from behind in the last two losses. A major concern is the running game, ranked fourth from the bottom. The Cowboys really need to find a way to create some big plays on the ground to keep the chains moving, along with the clock.
NEW YORK GIANTS
The Giants got their first win of the season and it was Malik Nabers making his presence felt in the NFL. The rookie was incredible, recording 8 catches for 798 yards and two touchdowns. He also has given Daniel Jones some confidence as he went 24-of-34 passes for 236 yards and two TDs. The defense was on fire sacking Deshaun Watson eight times and recovered two fumbles. If that effort can be repeated, the G-men could break a string of futility against Dallas, losing 13 of the last 14 games.
BEST BET PREDICTION
With this line, it’s tough to pick a side, especially considering there could be the possibility of a backdoor cover. So instead, let’s take the Under. The Giants know the defense has to keep them in every game and not rely heavily on the offense. So far, New York is 3-0 covering the under, while the Cowboys games have all gone over, mostly because of garbage, late points. A tough divisional battle should create a defensive struggle so let’s go Under.
BEST BET: UNDER 43.5
GAME BETTING ODDS
What’s interesting is this line opening at 5.5 in some sportsbooks but the public quickly snapped aup the points with the Giants.
