Eagles Take on the Bengals: Odds, Prediction and Player Prop Bets

It’s a battle of recent Super Bowl finalists as the Eagles hit the road to face the Bengals. Philadelphia and Cincinnati still have aspirations to return to the Super Bowl but know a loss could hurt their chances, especially the Bengals who sit at 3-4 while the Eagles are 4-2.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles put together their first 2-game win streak last week defeating the Giants 28-3 and most of the credit can go to Saquon Barkely who torched his former club with 176 rushing yards and a touchdown. Jalen Hurts also threw for a TD and rushed for two scores. But slow starts continues to be a problem for Philadelphia as they have yet to score in the first quarter all season. There are injury concerns as right guard Mekhi Becton sustained a concussion against New York and tight end Dallas Goedert deals with a hamstring injury. Both of their status is not known at this time.

Cincinnati Bengals

After an 0-3 start, the Bengals have won 3 of four and are back in contention in the AFC. Cincinnati comes in off a 21-14 road win against the Browns where Joe Burrow had a TD pass to both Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase. The offense did enough as Charlie Jones had a 100-yard kick-return TD for only the second opening kickoff return in franchise history. The defense has rounded into better form allowing just 21 total points in the last two games, albeit against the Giants and Browns.

Player Prop Best Bets

A.J. Brown: OVER 74.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

A.J. Brown has only played 3 games but has at least 89 receiving yards in each game and has receptions of 67, 40, and 41 in those games. He’s a game breaker and goes up against the 20th passing defense in the NFL.

Tee Higgins: OVER 70.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Tee Higgins has quietly had a productive season posting 341 yards on 29 receptions. Higgins has received more attention from Joe Burrow as teams are focusing on Ja’Marr Chase. In each of his last four games, Higgins has at least 60 yards including a season-high 82 yards last week against the Browns.

Game Betting Odds

Eagles +2.5
Bengals -2.5
Total: 47.5

Recent Betting Trends

Eagles are 3-10 ATS in their past 13 games
Cincinnati is 11-1 SU in the last 12 against NFC teams

Prediction

What’s interesting, both teams last two wins have come against the same teams, the Giants and the Browns. Both teams here have talent and are capable of winning. With the Bengals last three wins against lesser teams (Panthers), there is value for the Eagles as the underdog.

THE PICK: Eagles +2.5
