Early Odds for 2025 Heisman Trophy, Quarterbacks Lead the Way

Travis Hunter captured the Heisman Trophy and was a bit of a unicorn, a two-way player who can play receiver and cornerback. Don’t expect to see another player like him chasing college’s most coveted award. Once again, all the hype centers around quarterbacks as 12 pivots have won the Heisman since 2010.

QB Arch Manning, Texas +600

With Quinn Ewers expected to head to the NFL, it’s the Arch Manning show in Texas. He’s the nephew of former NFL quarterbacks Eli and Peyton, and has waited for his opportunity. He’s 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, has the tool and pedigree to be a college sensation. In eight games, Manning was 61 of 90 passes for 939 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions. With Steve Sarkisian running the show, expect Manning to have every opportunity to succeed.

QB Carson Beck, Miami +700

Once considered the favorite to be the top pick in 2025, Carson Beck decided to stay in college but transferred from Georgia to Miami. He spent five seasons with the Bulldogs winning two national titles and was 23-3 as a starter. Beck threw for 3,485 yards with 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 2024 but suffered a UCL injury in his elbow during the SEC Championship Game. If he rebounds from injury, he’ll be one of the top players in college football next year.

QB Garrett Nussmeier, LSU +1000

Garrett Nussmeier follows in the footsteps of former Heisman winner, Jayden Daniels. He was impressive in his first season under center, throwing for 3,739 yards, 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He threw for 300-yards or more seven times and at least 400 yards in two games. Nussmeier could have been a first-round pick but will return to LSU and is determined to have a big year in 2025.

QB Cade Klubnik, Clemson +1800

Cade Klubnik started slow but finished the season throwing for 3,303 yards, 33 touchdowns and just five interceptions while completing 63.7% of his passes. He led the Tigers into the ACC championship game and threw four touchdowns, as Clemson beat SMU 34-31. He was impressive in the CFP first round, 336 yards, 3 touchdowns against a very good Texas defense.

QB Sam Leavitt, Arizona State +2200

Transferring from Michigan State was definitely the right choice for Sam Leavitt as he helped turn around this program, winning the Big 12, and taking the Longhorns into OT before losing in the quarters. Leavitt passed for 2,663 yards with 24 touchdowns and ran for 383 yards with five TDs. If ASU can build off that improbable run, Leavitt could be in the conversation for the Heisman.
