- Century Casinos has already forged partnerships in Colorado with Circa Sports and bet365.
The sports betting market in Colorado is easily the most interesting–and among the most vigorous–in the United States. The state offers a wider variety of ‘outs’ than anywhere else in the country and with over a dozen more companies set to enter the market that will only get better. Colorado now has 15 companies offering sports betting apps in the state along with the tribal run Sky Ute Casino sportsbook for a total of 16. The state also has 11 retail sportsbooks–a number that will increase as the gaming industry continues to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic.
You can add another name to the long list of sports betting companies that are heading to Colorado. Century Casinos has announced that they’ve finalized a multi year deal with Tipico for mobile sports betting in the state. Tipico becomes Century Casinos’ third sports betting partner in Colorado joining already launched Circa Sports and forthcoming bet365. Founded in 2004, Tipico is one of the largest mobile, online and retail bookmakers in Germany and Austria. They’ve recently launched a US subsidiary and their app is already live in New Jersey where they’re partnered with the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City.
They’ve already launched a ‘coming soon’ page for Colorado but according to the press release Tipico ‘will complete the necessary application and approval process with the State of Colorado’. This suggest that they won’t be launching in the immediate future. They’re weren’t on the agenda for the October 15 meeting of the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission so they won’t get the approval process rolling until the November 19 meeting at the earliest. After that, there will be a final meeting for 2020 on December 17.
Adrian Vella, Managing Director, US Business, Tipico, praised partners Century Casinos and spoke of their excitement to enter the booming Colorado sports betting market:
“Tipico is thrilled to partner with Century Casinos, a highly respected name in North American casino entertainment, to bring our fully mobile sports betting experience to Colorado and introduce sports fans throughout the state to our brand and proprietary technology.”
Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, Co Chief Executive Officers of Century Casinos, returned the pleasantries and commended the Division of Gaming for their excellent launch of sports betting in Colorado:
“We are very excited to be partnering with Tipico Sportsbook, one of the top sports betting companies in the world, and we look forward to a long and prosperous relationship. The Colorado Division of Gaming has done an excellent job launching Sports Betting and we believe Colorado will be an ideal market for Tipico as they continue their expansion and growth in the United States.”
I’ll be back in Colorado before the end of the year so stay tuned for more news from the Rocky Mountains.
