McDavid, Oilers Big Favorites to Win Pacific Division

The Canucks shocked the west last season taking top spot when everyone figured the Oilers would take the Pacific. But this season, Edmonton is the class of the division and the odds reflect that. But could another team pull off a shocker in 2025? We’ll take a sneak peak.

Edmonton Oilers +110

The Oilers motto for 2025 is Stanley Cup or bust. After falling one game short, Edmonton is motivated to not only run through the division and conference, but return to the Finals and this time lift Lord Stanley’s Cup. While they did lose some pieces in defenceman Philip Broberg and left winger Dylan Holloway, the Oilers added Jeff Skinner and Viktor Arvidsson to bolster the top-six. Stuart Skinner will be the starter and this team is primed for a revenge season and that includes taking the Pacific. Remember, a poor 15-game start last season cost them the crown, and something tells me Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl won’t let that happen again.

Vegas Golden Knights +350

The Golden Knights didn’t make big offseason signings but they did lose some key pieces including Jonathan Marchessault and Chandler Stephenson. But this team still has a tonne of talent led by Jack Eichel and Mark Stone. Veteran Alex Pietrangelo, and Shea Theodore really strengthen the blueline. While they have won the Pacific three of the last five years, four in six will be a tall hill to climb.

Vancouver Canucks +400

The Canucks were one win away from the Conference Finals and won 50 games last season en route to the division crown. And the summer was full of changes as Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov left in free agency but Jake DeBrusk, Daniel Sprong, Danton Heinen and gritty winger Keifer Sherwood all were brought into the mix to bolster the forwards. The big concern is how much time Thatcher Demko will miss with an injury. The sooner he’s back, the better the chance to repeat, which may be tough to match last season’s output.
