Offense Shootout Expected in Commanders vs Ravens Tilt

by in NFL on

At the beginning of the season, not many would have called the Ravens, Commanders game in Week 6 as must see TV. But after 5 games, Washington is the surprise team in the NFL while the Ravens continue to solidify themselves as a Super Bowl favorite and on Sunday, they clash in Baltimore.

Washington Commanders

The Commanders are on a four-game winning streak but now face their toughest test of the season. Rookie QB Jayden Daniels had led a balanced attack, 14th in passing yards and second in rushing yards per game. But Washington goes up against the top-ranked run defense, so Daniels could be throwing more than running Sunday. The Ravens have struggled against the pass ranking 31st in the NFL in passing yards allowed. The defense will have its hands full with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, who leads the league with 6 rushing touchdowns.

Baltimore Ravens

After dropping the first two games the Ravens have bounced back with 3 straight wins averaging 35 points during that span. While they racked up 520 yards on the Bengals, the defense allowed 442 yards. Derrick Henry will be a key factor as he leads the league in rushing with 572 yards. Baltimore’s wins have come against some of the elite, Buffalo, and Dallas but now face an upstart Commanders team that is playing with house money. The defense will be the X-factor, if it can stop Daniels, the Ravens should have no problem winning their fourth straight.

Best Bet: OVER 52.5 Points

This has all the signs of going over. Both teams have gone over in 4 of their 5 games. The Commanders are averaging 31 points per with an average of 54 total points in every game. The Ravens are posting just over 29 points per with their game totals at about 55 points. Both have the offensive weapons and suspect secondary which means a lot of points in this one.

Player Prop Best Bets

Jayden Daniels: OVER 228.5 (-110)

What’s been impressive, Daniels has completed 77% of his passes and thrown for at least 226 yards in four straight. And now he faces the second worst passing defense in the NFL, as the Ravens surrender 280 yards per game. If this turns into a shootout like the total suggests, Daniels could set a career best in yardage.

Rashod Bateman OVER 30.5 (-130)

Rashod Bateman had a season high 8 targets last week, catching four passes for 58 yards. Through five games Bateman is averaging 40 yards a game and should find some openings against a Commander’s secondary that has allowed the 10th most yards to receivers this season. Zay Flowers is the obvious deep threat, but Bateman should get touches on Sunday.

Game Betting Odds

Commanders +6.5 (-112)
Ravens -6.5 (-108)
