Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE:H), in collaboration with Rio Hotel & Casino, has unveiled an exciting update for World of Hyatt members. Now, members can earn and redeem points during their stays at the Hyatt-affiliated hotel, which is currently undergoing a comprehensive $340 million renovation. This transformation is set to enhance the iconic hotel’s allure, positioning it under Hyatt’s Independent Collection as a Destination by Hyatt brand upon completion of the first phase in fall 2024.
David Tarr, Senior Vice President of Development for the Americas at Hyatt, expressed his enthusiasm for the project:

He emphasized the unique nature of Destination by Hyatt hotels, which capture the essence of their locales, promising that Rio Hotel & Casino will offer an experience rich in entertainment, immersive experiences, and authentic design coupled with warm, welcoming service.
Owned and operated by Dreamscape, Rio Hotel & Casino’s transformation marks its entry as the first Destination by Hyatt hotel in Nevada and expands Hyatt’s presence in Las Vegas, a key destination for leisure, group, and convention visitors globally.
The renovation aims to transform Rio Hotel & Casino into a haven of adventure and discovery, offering a fresh design, thoughtful amenities, and upgraded services. The extensive refurbishments have already commenced with the Ipanema tower and are expected to enhance the hotel’s exterior, lobby, gaming floor, sports book, dining venues, meeting spaces, and outdoor pool area.
Eric Birnbaum, founder of Dreamscape, shared his excitement about welcoming World of Hyatt members to witness the transformation of this landmark, highlighting Rio’s long-standing reputation as a vibrant Las Vegas resort. The renovation is not just a facelift but a reimagining of the Rio experience, promising guests a blend of spacious suites, dynamic dining and nightlife options, exhilarating casino action, and top-tier entertainment reflective of Las Vegas’s spirited ambiance.
Upon completion, the reimagined hotel will cater to both leisure and business travelers with over 220,000 square feet of renovated function space and cutting-edge meeting facilities, responding to the growing demand for meeting and event venues in Las Vegas.
From March 1, Rio Hotel & Casino has been fully integrated into the World of Hyatt program, allowing members to earn and redeem points for eligible stays. To celebrate, World of Hyatt is offering members 500 Bonus Points for every qualifying night from April 1 to June 30, 2024. This bonus is part of the hotel’s welcoming offer, with no registration required, allowing members to accumulate points on top of other offers.
