The biggest sports event of the year is almost upon us, as Super Bowl LIV weekend is in full swing. As of this article posting, the Kansas City Chiefs are just 1.5-point favorites against the San Francisco 49ers. This matchup is expected to have a decent amount of scoring despite the competent defenses, with the game total currently sitting at 54.
If you want a little extra rooting action, pick your favorite guy in this Chiefs / Niners game and load up on their stat lines! Similar to fantasy football, rooting for a single player to get to a certain stat line makes the game much more exciting. Let’s be honest…it also is fantastic when that extra $ hits your wallet. Almost every single offensive skill player’s stat line can be bet on, but here are a few of my personal favorites.
– Raheem Mostert –
Mostert had an unbelievable four-touchdown game two weeks ago against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game. He was the beneficiary of Tevin Coleman’s injury, but it seemed like literally anyone could have run the ball for over 200 yards in that game. Mostert will once again act as the lead back for the Niners on Sunday, and the props back that statement up. You can get great odds on Mostert’s first carry (over 3.5 yards for -110) and longest rush of the game (over 18.5 at +120 odds). The Niners rushing offense should be able to keep doing their thing against the Chiefs.

– Patrick Mahomes –
Mahomes gets his toughest test of the season, but so do the Niners. No matter what side you are betting on for this game, Mahomes is in a great script. If you expect the Chiefs to win, their star QB should have a fantastic day through the air (and maybe even on the ground). If you expect the Chiefs to lose, Mahomes would be forced to throw the majority of the second half as they try to pull off a late victory. One of my favorite bets of the weekend is Pat Mahomes throwing a TD Pass in the 4th quarter. You can currently get -120 odds of that happening.
– Sammy Watkins –
The Chiefs wideout announced during Super Bowl press week that there’s a good chance this could be the last game of his career. While it would be a shorter career than most, it definitely makes the narrative even more enticing. Mahomes may not force the ball to Watkins, but they may try to scheme him open on a few more plays than normal. We did see Watkins explode for a long touchdown in the AFC Championship game, so he always has that big play upside. You’re able to get pretty good odds on his first receptions exceeding 10.5 yards (-120 odds) and longest reception exceeding 24.5 yards (+140 on the over).
