- ‘Survivor: Edge of Extinction’ Episode 10 airs April 17 at 8:00 PM Eastern.
It was one of those Survivor: Edge of Extinction episodes that seemed significant as it was going on but when the smoke cleared little had changed. That’s essentially the result of having the Extinction Island format. This week, Julia Carter was voted out by the Tribal Council 9-1 but like every voted out contestant before her she chose to head to Extinction Island instead of calling it quits entirely. The current situation is that 10 weeks in to the season only two contestants have actually been eliminated.
Here’s the tally: Keith Sowell and Wendy Diaz are the two contestants eliminated from the game. Both had the option of remaining on Extinction Island in Episode 6 but instead decided to throw in the towel…er…raise the mast. That same week Rick Devins won a challenge and moved from Extinction Island back into the main game. That leaves Reem Daly, Chris Underwood, Aubry Bracco, Joe Anglim, Eric Hafemann and Julia Carter on Extinction Island. Things should heat up considerably this week as the producers have confirmed there will be Two Tribal Councils and two people given the boot in Episode 10.
Just in case you missed the earlier procedural note–you’ll notice that some of the prop bets listed below have all of the contestants that haven’t been officially eliminated (meaning Extinction Island is included) while others have only the ‘main game’ contestants. There’s a logic to that–it’s impossible to handicap all of the hypothetical situations where a player could return to the game from Extinction Island and get voted out again/win immunity/win a reward in the same episode. For that reason, the betting interests in those props are limited to the main island contestants. I have changed the final entry to ‘Any Other Result’ to cover not only a situation where there is no winner in a given category but where there might be a scenario such as the one outlined above. The ultimate winner prop and the ‘Next to Be Pixelated Prop’ contains all remaining contestants since there’s no reason the Extinction Island crew couldn’t come back to win the contest or suffer a wardrobe malfunction.
