If there wasn’t already enough of a reason to drink at a Wisconsin-based sporting event, the Milwaukee Bucks’ recent addition of a “Beer Button” to their phone application surely does the job. First implemented along with the stadium upgrade of Fiserv Forum, the Beer Button is just one more reason to enjoy Giannis Antetokounmpo without having to leave your seat. At the time this article was written, the 2019-20 Milwaukee Bucks have the NBA’s best record at 40-6, with a 21-2 record within the confines of Fiserv Forum. Coincidence…I think not!!
The Beer Button is just one of the many new innovations that is taking over the world of sports entertainment. In addition to avoiding long lines in a fast-paced sport, you could also make the argument that keeping fans in the seats prior to the third quarter is an extreme advantage for the home team (momentum can swing in the beginning of the second half if the home town crowd is still walking around from halftime).
If you’re watching a game in the Deer District this season, here’s how this all works (Official Bucks instructions are available here):
1. Download the Bucks / Fiserv Forum app (Want to stand in line for your drinks? Didn’t think so).
2. Navigate to the ‘Arena’ section of the app.
3. Tap the ‘Coors Light Beer Button’, then input your seat number.
4. Select your beer (limit two per person per order).
5. Pay for said drinks.
6. Wait patiently while the Greek Freak posterizes someone.
7. Drink said beers.
Milwaukee starts a stretch of three-straight home games on Tuesday, January 28th, as they host the Washington Wizards. They’ll also host the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns in the coming week as they continue to stay on pace for an historic regular season run.
